Valeria Vaccaro, born in Turin, is an Italian artist dedicated to contemporary art. Since 2005, she has regularly exhibited in solo and group shows in Europe and around the World.
Vaccaro’s artistic style involves a distinctive sculptural and painterly technique, which employs inks and pigments to intervene on marble, making it resemble wood. Starting from a deeply manual creative process, her artistic research revolves around the themes of combustion and fire.
Each sculpture is a snapshot of that process, where the moment is captured and rendered eternal in its evolution: an instant frozen through a material considered eternal: marble. The author’s creative action generates not only a mutation of material, shaping the surfaces, but operates on another level, giving value to the object as work of art.
