Soft Arch

Bench made of wood, padded with polyurethane foam, and entirely upholstered in leather with brass details. This piece was born from Ron Gilad's study of the arch, represented through a series of projects that express the ability of simple geometry to transform into functional seating.

The bench's aesthetic recalls an old travel suitcase, but here too the designer's irony subverts its functionality: "Framing everyday objects within a perfect geometry, simply modifying their function and giving them new life. In this way, what you see is not necessarily what it seems; the form does not immediately suggest a function, but rather the opposite".
