Dilmos presents Babeli by Daniele Papuli

DILMOS OPENS THE DOORS OF ITS NEW LOCATION IN BRERA AND PRESENTS “BABELI” BY DANIELE PAPULI

Dilmos celebrates its 40th anniversary in style. For the occasion of the Design City Milano, from september 28th to october 10th, the gallery opens the doors of its new location, still in Brera, in the same building at piazza San Marco designed by the architect Vico Magistretti. This time with entrance from Via San Marco 1, and presents the “BABELI” collection by Daniele Papuli.

BABELI, 8 unique pieces, born during the lockdown when Papuli felt the need to deconstruct the material, to create playful and hyper-colored puzzles. Evolutionary structures built with fragments, forms, reams, paper residues of different types and colors, precious accumulations of Papuli’s laboratory, obtained and extracted from his sculptures, cut by hand in his everyday activities.

Free formed all-round compositions that become vases, crowns, capitals , phantasmagoric volumes, micro-architectures full of shiny and wrinkled signs, of corners that settle as artifacts or unfold like flowers.

Papuli's works are located within the walls of the new Dilmos location, a 200 square meter space arranged on a single floor, with large full-height windows. Dilmos continues to carry on its ‘'Poetry within the objects”, the philosophy that has distinguished them for 40 years, according to which a piece of furniture is a narrative object, not just a functional object, but an expression of thoughts, ideas, that could ultimately become iconic.
